![]() ![]() These lists are populated automatically based on the current configuration in System Preferences -> Internet Accounts. All available contact lists are on the left-hand side. It’s got to be easy on the eye to make people want to dive into it and they’ve achieved that. BusyMac have stuck with a format that works. When you open the application for the first time, users of Bus圜al will be very familiar with the interface. Clicking on a contact produced an activity field filled with their latest tweets. Adding my Twitter account was an easy experience and watching all of my contacts fill up there, with phone number fields filled in was great to see. Social Network Integration – Your favourite social networking sites are able to be integrated with Bus圜ontacts.Moving users from one account to another was as seamless as two mouse clicks (even better with a nice new Keyboard Maestro macro as well!) I have contacts in iCloud, Google, and Office 365 and haven’t encountered a single synchronisation problem during my trial. Syncing – Bus圜ontacts syncs with iCloud, Google, Exchange, Office 365 as well as other CardDAV servers without issue. It’s treading very much into CRM (Customer Relationship Management) territory and this could be very attractive for small businesses and freelancers out there. This helps to elevate Bus圜ontacts beyond a mere contacts application. Bus圜al Integration – Linked heavily with the Activity List, this is how the calendar events of that list are populated. In List View, the pane moves to the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Calendar information, recent emails and messages are all available to be seen and you can filter these to your liking. In Card View, the right-hand pane will show all activity with this contact. Activity List – I’m so impressed with this part. You can colour, group and filter contacts with the use of tags, splitting them into family, work, company groups etc. Tags – Some people love tags, others cannot abide them. You can filter contacts, create saved searches and save your own customisable views. Smart Filters – I love Smart Mailboxes in the native Mail client which means I adore Smart Filters in Bus圜ontacts. So what have they been able to feature in this release that sets it above the competition? For Instagram users with a sizeable following on the app, this could help cut down on inbox noise and focus on time-sensitive messages.Well, just as they gave us an alternative to the Calendar application with Bus圜al, those talented individuals at BusyMac have gone and cracked it again with the release of Bus圜ontacts. It also lets users receive messages regardless of time zone and enjoy uninterrupted sleep at night. Sending an Instagram DM using the silent tag saves users from being tempted to check Instagram while at work. The perks for the message recipient are more critical and maybe even more crucial in certain situations. Senders can shoot Instagram DMs right when they think of something to say and not have to worry about catching the other person at an inopportune time. Making it a habit to use when sending a not-so-important Instagram DM is helpful for both the sender and the receiver of messages. Users may receive notifications while Instagram is in use. Do note that silent DMs only work when Instagram isn't actively open on the device. Typing in a thread with multiple people before the actual message lets someone communicate with those who are potentially busy with important tasks without unnecessarily disrupting their day. Silent DMs also work on Instagram desktop and in Instagram group chats. Simply typing the sign should trigger a pop-up that says 'Send message without a notification'-on some phones, tapping the pop-up will automatically populate the text box with Next, type a message as normal and hit 'Send.' Once in the chat thread, type in the text box. Next, search for an Instagram handle to send a message using the search bar or tap on an existing chat thread in the inbox. To send a silent DM, launch the Instagram app and tap the DM inbox icon on the top-right corner of the screen. ![]() ![]() Related: How To Use Android's Focus Mode To Avoid Distracting Notifications This practical function not only gives users better control of their Instagram DMs but also encourages users to be more conscientious about their messaging etiquette. Instead, messages sent using the new feature will go into a person's DM thread and can be accessed and read when a user manually taps their DM inbox and opens the specific chat thread shared with the sender. Instagram users can now send 'silent' DMs without triggering a notification on a recipient's device. ![]()
